Tired of Being Obese?
First of all, it is not your fault!
Despite a lot of people calling for ‘loving yourself no matter what’, it is a simple fact that being fat sucks. You obviously think so, otherwise you would not be reading this. Interestingly, despite what people might think, obesity is not necessarily a result of gluttony and/or laziness. It is not your fault. Genetics plays a very important role in your body size, and science has established that people can basically have three types of bodies, and they cannot change their body type. You might have noticed that some people just do not seem to get fat no matter what they eat, while you, on the other hand, put on weight even if you are starving. That is because genetics and other external factors determine how fast your food gets absorbed and how much you put on fat. Having said that, obesity not being your fault does not mean that you cannot or should not do something about it. There are many ways through which you can control it, but right now I have something else in mind.
Weight loss surgery
Weight loss surgery, as the name suggests, is a series of procedures which make your body lose weight. Do not confuse it with liposuction, in which fat is carved out. That is only recommended when the obesity is life threatening. Nowadays most bariatric surgeries involve minimally invasive procedures which include gastric bypass, gastric band, and gastrectomy. These basically involve making your stomach smaller so that you may eat less and feel full, thus preventing weight gain. These surgeries, if performed by a good surgeon, do not involve much risk and are very effective in weight loss. Of course, you should not feel any shame in having these surgeries. Being obese is not good for health, and these surgeries can actually prevent many cardiovascular diseases.
